"Advocate, and Empower for Change."

In 2024, Women Alliance of Miami Dade and Broward, Inc. was founded in 1998 during a time when being an immigrant, particularly of Haitian descent, carried the stigma of being “boat people.” Undocumented migrants were faced with a great deal of challenges, fleeing their country of origin due to fear of persecution. They were victims of severe human rights violations and socioeconomic disadvantages.
Our Haitian population experienced a language barrier, cultural mistrust, and fear of the government. As a result, they were frequently discriminated against, stigmatized, and victimized at various levels.
The Women's Alliance of Miami Dade and Broward, Inc. was established to address these challenges and to educate, inform, protect, and positively impact the immigrant population.

Our Mission Statement, since its inception, has been to empower women, advocate for immigration fairness, access to health care, address human rights issues, and encourage civic engagement.

Our Vision is to be a safe and reliable source of information that empowers immigrants to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Our Goals and objectives focus on influencing government policies regarding immigration, access to health care, voting rights, the importance of the Census, affordable/workforce housing, and victimization prevention.
